Three Dimensional Design:
Art Deco Cube
The Art Deco Cube is a 3D design project inspired by the bold geometry, symmetry, and decorative elements of the Art Deco era. As part of the project, I researched the characteristics and visual language of the era and translated them into a cohesive cube design. The project provided an opportunity to explore the history and principles of Art Deco while also serving as an introduction to designing for a three-dimensional form.
Inspiration
The inspiration for this cube came from Art Deco–themed playing cards, particularly their bold geometric patterns, symmetrical compositions, and elegant use of decorative detail. I was drawn to the way the cards combine structured linework with luxurious gold and black tones, creating a design that feels both sophisticated and timeless. These elements became the foundation for the cube’s visual direction.
